Dear Diary:
That’s what the nice lady who gave me this book to write in said I should start every day with. She, I think her name is Diane, said this might be a good way for me to talk to momma when she wasn’t around…but I don’t have to let anybody read it if I don’t want to. Well, that’s all today. I don’t know what else to write
Dear Diary:
I had a spelling test today in school. I like school and try to study hard. I hope I got an A. Momma would be proud if I do. And Thomas might not yell so much. Thomas is really my dad, but he says I should call him Thomas.
I didn’t get to see Momma today. I hope she is okay. I worry about her when I don’t see her. I don’t think Thomas is nice to Momma. Sometimes Momma does things to make Thomas mad. He even hits her and pushes her. That is when I get scared. I try and stay in my bed and pull the covers over my head.
Dear Diary:
The nice lady, Diane, came to see me today. She asked if I was writing to you. I think she wanted to take you back. It seems like all the good things go away, but I hid you so she can’t have you.
I’m sleepy and wish my Momma would tuck me in and say my prayers with me. I need to find my Pooh bear to sleep with me.
Dear Diary:
Last night was Sunday. It is my favorite day of the week because I get to spend time with my Momma. She told me a Nimby fairytale. I love Nimby. I fell asleep while she was telling it to me. I hate when I do that, but my eyes closed and the next thing I knew Doris was waking me up for school. I have a surprise for Momma. I will give it to her tomorrow.
Oh, and the nice lady Diane does not want to take you back. She only wanted to be sure I was writing in you. I am glad she is not going to take you away.
